How do we track our student’s academic growth if we don’t grade?

The small group setting allows us to closely monitor our students academic-, social and emotional progress and gently guide them in the everyday setting. We also try to maintain good communication with parents, so we can work as a unit for the child’s best interest.

At the end of each school year we write a narrative evaluation about your child, focusing not only on their academic progress, but also where they are socially and emotionally.

Do we do standardized testing?

Our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students take the ITBS test. This can be optional for 3rd graders unless they receive a scholarship that requires it.

Which middle schools do SunFlower graduates attend?

It really depends on the child and what each family is seeking. We have had graduates from SunFlower successfully transition into all sorts of middle schools. We can help guide you into what might be the best fit for your child.
