• “We know Sunflower school as a community of teachers and families that are intelligent about children’s development and see each child as a whole person. Research shows when children feel liked and accepted by their teachers they learn better and teachers at Sunflower are dedicated to getting to know and love every single child for who they are. In Covid times teachers showed unprecedented emotional intelligence and resilience, which have been sole reason children have done as well as they did at school through this very challenging experience. I can’t recommend Sunflower school highly enough. With my second child who is about to graduate from Sunflower, I see their love of learning only increasing, and if it’s not a recommendation for a school, then I don’t know what is.”

  • “Sunflower School isn't just a school, it's a family!  My daughter went from kindergarten to grade 5 at Sunflower and I watched her grow and blossom to a beautiful confident young girl.  The school is small and perfect for your child to get as much attention as needed.  My daughter had some emotional issues to deal with at times and the teachers all supported her and gave her and myself the tools and support that we needed.  I believe my daughter would not have gotten that type of attention and continued support at too many other schools. I highly recommend this school and I only wish the school included middle school!”

  • “My children both graduated from SunFlower School and are both currently on the Honor Roll in middle school. We loved our years at SunFlower and loved the kind, caring Teachers. The school projects, the amazing field trips and the annual Shakespeare plays were all enriching, wonderful experiences!”

  • “We've been deeply grateful for SunFlower over this pandemic year. Logan has been able to participate virtually in a mix of math, reading, history, spelling, comprehension, science, dance breaks, art and theater projects, all done with constant attention to community within his class. He's learned so much, even in this incredibly difficult year. Amidst all the kids' discouragements and technical barriers, Bevin has held her class together impressively. Every time I hear her correct someone with a gentle chuckle I appreciate her patience and commitment.”

  • “We stumbled upon sunflower school when moving back to St. Pete when our daughter was just entering kindergarten. What sold us on the school was our very first phone call with Marie. She and the other teachers are so passionate about what they do and the environment they create for the children. Our daughter is now in 5th grade. The majority of her childhood has been spent in the loving arms of Sunflower. She has created, read, acted, breathed, laughed, cried and grown. She has been able to learn at her own level. The teachers have embraced the person she is and worked with her unique talents. Sunflower is more than a school. It has been a home for her. I trust the teachers to guide her and inspire her. I was able to be involved as a parent and contribute to the sunflower community. So sunflower became a home for me as well. Thank you sunflower for being the safe, fun, beautiful place where learning and childhood meet and play. We love you!”
