Events Throughout the Year
This is an opportunity for families to come together and meet each other and the teachers at the beginning of the year. Children work hard to produce art and writing to show off to their parents!
Each fall we have a family Halloween festival with homemade fun and games.
Instead of celebrating Thanksgiving, at SunFlower we re-enact the story of Stone Soup, creating a communal meal that the whole school shares.
In December, we encourage parents to take a day off from work and come with us and their child to Venice Beach where we look for shark teeth and take a moment to enjoy the beauty of the season.
Each year SunFlower students perform a Shakespearean play at the Catherine Hickman Theater in Gulfport. Performances are usually sold out!
The year ends as it begins with families coming together to share a picnic and to appreciate the great work that their children have done throughout the school year.
